School committee responsibilities include: Policy, Finance, Staffing, Collective bargaining, Performance Standards, Professional development, School Councils, Advocacy, Curriculum, Governance, and Communication.
The School Committee consists of five members elected to staggered three year terms. The School Committee is responsible for hiring, firing, and evaluating the superintendent of schools; approving and reviewing district policies; and approving the school district budget.
